Gator is continuing to improve and is on antifungal
medications, twice weekly medicated bathes ,and fish oils. His bloodwork was
good other than the chronic inflammation caused by his skin issues that were
untreated for so long. He is getting better and better for his bathes and is
really starting to get some hair growth coming in. You may notice that he is
starting to smell a lot better these days too!
-There is a new Boston Terrier that was surrendered this
week. You may notice his gooey eyes which are all as a result of him have too
little tear production and an issue called dry eye. We have started him on an
eye medication to help keep his eyes lubricated and hopefully producing more
tears in the future. He should do great so long as he stays on this medication
long term. He also has some dry/flaky skin and is getting medicated bathes.
-The BIG Great Pyrenees male is starting to warm up and is
often at the front of the kennel now. We have shaved his underside and removed
much of the matting and foxtails from his coat. He is getting neutered this
week and they will hopefully be able to check for an remaining foxtails then.
He has a few old scars from his time out on the ranch, but no active issues
needing treatment currently.
-Shiloh has finally gotten her external hardware removed and
has been given an all clear for her leg fracture. She will wear her cone a few
more days while the pin holes heal, but hopefully she will find her own loving
home very soon.
