Amazing Lynn

I wanted to give a big shout out to Lynn and announce her as the volunteer for the month of May!

Not only does Lynn volunteer with the kitties, she repairs dog toys, has helped over the years with countless sewing projects (some of you may remember the cat covers, but also she has just been made one of the top 10 users of the AdoptMeApp. Not just at our shelter at all shelters that use this program. If you do not know what that is take a look at our website, and the cute feed below is done by staff and volunteers to help animals get adopted. During COVID it was one of the few ways we could get seen for adoptions.

From AdoptMeApp:

Lynn Scott, who is a super power user of AdoptMeApp. Lynn was one of the very first users of AdoptMeApp at your shelter. Her first post is below - December 18, 2018 - right when your shelter came on board with AdoptMeApp.

Lynn is one of the top 10 users of AdoptMeApp across ALL of our partner shelters! In the last 18 months alone she has made over 1,200 posts. She is your shelter's most prolific poster.

Woohoo

Dear Animal Services,

Thank you so much for all you do for us in San Luis Obispo.  Cloud is an alumni from Animal Services.  He has been the best dog and everyday I say, "thanks to Grier," who brought him to me over the counter at the old building and said he was part "cocker spaniel" and I should take him as a rescue for the Second Chance Cocker group we worked with years ago.  Needless to say, he was a rescue failure and we kept him.

Take care and have a good day.

Adoption updates

I adopted “Penelope” on May 8, and she is just a wonderful dog!  Her name is now Darcy and she is a terrific ball dog, preferring to chase the ball rather than eat.  When we go to the dog beach, she chases ANY ball, whether it is hers or some other dog’s, so I have to leash her when we see another ball nearby to stave off a problem encounter!

She has learned her new name very quickly, and comes when I call her.  We walk every day about 2 miles, and if I don’t get ready to go out fast enough she will bark at me, saying “hurry up, would you, I want to go NOW”!  She fit easily into our lifestyle and seems to feel pretty secure and relaxed now.  My husband and I feel so blessed to have her in our lives now after a very difficult goodbye in February to our previous canine companion of 14 years.  She has brought the sunshine and smiles back!

Sadie who had been surrendered a few weeks ago. She is doing GREAT with her entire human and animal family, and they are all made for one another. Sadie's itchy hot spot is all healed thanks to her new vet and allergy control and she's lost a few pounds which has made her breathing and energy much improved. Sadie had been passed around too many times prior to this family taking her, they are the ultimate adopters for Sadie and their family feels complete with her.
